Power Tec claims a method has been
proven to increase the average hourly bodyshop charge-out
rate by 78 per cent. By making the repair of panels a viable
alternative to replacement, the vehicle owner/ insurer saves
on the cost of of parts. In one test, a bodyshop with five
panelbeaters achieved an estimated panel saving of over £100,000
a year whilst increasing its hourly charge-out rate by 60
percent.

Called the Miracle
Sytem, from Japan, it enables panels to be quickly
and easily repaired from the outside, avoiding strip and fit
as well as reducing the painting process. From dings and scrapes
to more extensive panel damage needing up to a two tonne pull,
the system is designed to keep the repair area local, making
difficult repairs easy, even for trainnes. Keeping the repair
local, with the ability to metal finish, results in a minimum
of filling and sanding with less time in the panel and paint
shop.
Repairs, not replacement, means
the manufacturer's welds, seams and corrosion and protection
are maintained. By reducing the removal and refit of complex
wiring looms, plastic parts and trim clips, inevitable breakages
are avoided. Minimising courtesy car usage is another benefit
as a two to three day job can now be turned around in a day.
